A diverse economy
While the docks are very close to Canary Wharf, a global titan in office space, the docks could also benefit from supporting Newham's thriving secondary sector industry.
All employment units will have either a green roof or a solar panelled roof. This example has both.
Employment units will provide a mixture of space for different sized companies. The example houses a large private company which needs lots of floor space and also a day-care to cater for the employees children.
Employment units have high ceiling ground floors to allow for commercial space on the ground floor. This will allow for an active street frontage which will encourage visitors to the area.

Due to high restrictions around the airport, the commercial buildings cannot be as tall as the nearby canary wharf. However, commercial buildings further away from the waters edge will be taller.
