The Royal Albert Docks have throughout history been London's gateway to the world. Since the 1960's and the international standardisation of containers, the docks experienced a spiral of decline. The redevelopment of the site aims to put the Royal Docks back on the global map.

Design Objectives

Provide mixed tenure and sustainable housing for the community - of which at least 50% will be affordable in line with Newham Mayor's manifesto.

Provide a continuation of use for the docks area by maintaining its status as an employment hub for London

Maintain and enhance local heritage assets by making them more accessible to the local community and tourists

Protect and enhance the biodiversity of the area, fostering green space within the site.
